Hello Art
I thought I might update you with progress so far
I’ve set up a DIY Multimedia for Teaching and Learning Google Group at https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/olds-mooc-diy-multimedia
And posted on Monday’s task Learning design brainstorm inviting DIY Multimedia members to describe their own thoughts on learning design.
Please feel free to add a few thoughts on how you all approach learning design.
Also how are you all finding the MOOC? So far for me the Massiveness has been a bit overwhelming. I’m hoping once we are all in the same place then collaboration and communication may get a little easier!
Sue

Good morning Sue,
Yes, this MOOC is MASSIVE and overwhelming,
I think it needs an effective User Interface to more easily navigate.
I also realize I probably screwed up and called this cloud a Cloudscape.
I will probably rename this to Digital Literacy Team Cloud

Hi Art and others,
Since these proposed study groups -
Digital Literacy Team Cloud - http://cloudworks.ac.uk/cloud/view/7137
Digilit study circle - http://cloudworks.ac.uk/cloud/view/7326
have the same focus, would it make sense for them to join and close down/remove the redundant Cloud?
Also, Art, it's a little confusing that the Digital Literacy Team Cloud (i.e., the Study Circle you've set up) is included in the OLDSMOOC Project Teams Cloudscape (http://cloudworks.ac.uk/cloudscape/view/2470) - I initially thought it was a project proposal in addition to the one you've already set up. Might be worth removing it to avoid confusion?

Joe,
Good points.
I just read Yishay's plea last night to put the proper clouds in the proper cloudscapes.
I will try to get my clouds placed properly soon (although I need to go in to work just now).
The Digilit study circle referrenced by you might have the wrong link associated - I think it is http://cloudworks.ac.uk/cloud/view/7326 which is Sue's.
I think our teams are separate but have some overlap.
Are study circles for several project teams to collaborate or just for one project?
Also should the MyDeam cloud be the same as the MyProjectTeam cloud.
I am confused but will try to RTFM when I find it, lol.

My understanding is there may be many mappings from 'project team' to 'study circles' - for example, your proposed project team might explore a range of themes that are being addressed by a number of different study circles, e.g., the nature of MOOCs, digital literacies, social media/technologies, etc. Other, quite different projects to yours might share some of the same, but not all, interests and therefore frequent a selection of the same study circles. I feel some kind of visualisation might help us all understand how it should work.

Hi everyone, we really need some clarity here or we are in danger of going round in circles and losing participants simply because they do not know where the discussion is taking place. I just found this cloud by luck after posting this
I have complete a a scenario for Digital Literacy but am not sure what to do with it as we have not settled on a collaborative tool or workspace. I would think that this is a priority. Does anyone have some suggestions?
in the dreambazzar and the googledocs page... I do not have the time to check multiple possible locations every day.

Peter,
This is my first experience attempting to collaborate.
I do not like the looks of the Google Doc but it kind of works.
I, too, wish for one place for everything and everybody, including a user interface (navigation bar).
I am kind of getting this at http://wallwisher.com/wall/oldsmooc

Hi, I am part of a project team working on developing digital literacy in younger learners - see http://cloudworks.ac.uk/cloud/view/7385. Would it be possible to join this study circle as it seems very relevant to what we are doing? Sorry for being so late - keeping up with OLDS-MOOC is pretty challenging!

Arosha,
Welcome.
The wallwisher link above is where I am putting stuff.
I am putting navigaion aids on the left, assignments and how-to in the middle, and resources to the right.
Peter has added his scenario in the middle, too.

The wallwisher wall is filling up - anyone know the best way of making best use of what's on there for learning?

Hi. Yes, our wall wisher is pretty full, mostly my stuff.
If we are to do teamwork tasks we need to communicate, here for now.
I think the wall will scale so for now maybe you could stake out a spot way over to the right, or down at the bottom.

I am joining this study group but continuing with the video production project. ( partly presenting a course, partly working out how to do it)
